We have a place to live.... yay! It took a lot of jumping through hoops but we did it! There were a lot of things going on today, and to my amazement it worked out.
So here is what we had to do to get the place...
1) Visit airport rail station. Pick up wire transfer from Western Union for payment of first month's rent.
2) Open bank account to hold money in escrow for deposit on flat.
3) Send details of bank account to work to wire deposit for flat.
4) Buy mobile phone
5) Pay first month's rent, and show bank account records to get keys
Trust me it sounds more simple that it was... tomorrow we move in and I'm excited about that. Aparently everyone I talk to here are simply amazed that we found a place to live in Geneva. It is almost unheard of to find a flat. I guess things just worked out for us. We still have some things to get done. Monday the telephone company is coming out to get us setup with Internet, and of course we have to go out and buy groceries, etc..
